Clans Campaign

Rules

These are the campaign rules

Changes
These rules are subject to change at any time because of missing parts or too confusing areas.

At the moment we are on v1.03 of the rules, and hpoe that this will be the last.

RULES
-The era of the online campaign is the Sengoku Era.
-It starts in 1535 for this campaign.
-The map of Japan is used. Map shown on other page of this website.
-Japan is split up into different provinces.
-Each clan rules a certain number of provinces.
-No province is ruled by Ronin, there is no place for ronin in this game.
-Each clan can be made up of up to 3 players.
-Clans take a historical clans name.
-Certain provinces have extra buildings such as Temples and Ports.
-Clans get a starting koku amount of 15000, and income per year from their lands.
-Each turn is a year. It takes 1 week and clan members can only do one thing per year.(Read below for possibilities)

UNITS:
MUSKS--not available until the year 1543.
ARQ--not available until the year 1543.
BN-not available.
KEN-not available until the year 1560
NC-not available.
All other units are available from the start.

TURNS:
-Each clan will be able to do two things with its members per turn. 1. Move into an adjacent province. 2. Spend money on each members army.
-When a clan moves its member into an adjacent province, a battle between defenders and attackers must occur, unless a negotiation can happen. This negotiation can be anything from defender retreating, to vassalage of defender to attacker.
-Provinces can be given by the owner to other clans in return for certain things. Hostages = 1 member of clan getting province cannot fight until released.
-You cannot build buildings in provinces.
-Certain units can be built in certain provinces. (those famed for certain units can build them) Other provinces can only build YA,YS,SA,NAG,CA,YC.
WM only where temples are.
ND only where Sword Dojo's are
HC only where Horse Dojo's are
ARQ/MUSKS only where ports are(from 1543 onwards)
KEN in any province(from 1560 only)

Battles

Attacks can be made via the black lines in the sea. These represent ports.
-Battles are fought on the online server.
-Battles will be fought on weekends only, unless agreed time by both teams is arranged during week.
-The time of battle must be agreed upon by both sides. Defender suggests time first.
-If both teams decide a time and one team does not show up, then the other team gets the victory.
-Negotiation occurs before any battle between the two clans involved. If terms are sorted out then no battle is necessary.
-If the attacker wins the battle, he claims the province. No koku can be pillaged or buildings destroyed.
-If the defender wins the battle he keeps his province.
-All members of a certain clan can fight in the same battle. As defenders or attackers.(Either side cannot excede 4 players, members(+allied members helping))
-60 men units, fatigue morale restricted camera and limited ammo are all on. Battles can be fought in any season but all must know the season.
-The attacker chooses the weather as per normal.

Allies

-Allies can fight in battles to defend or attack provinces with their allies. I.e. Clan Shoni can help Smimazu attack Otomo because both have provinces neighbouring Otomo lands.
-If two clans decide to attack the same province in the same turn, then both fights occur in one battle. (3 teams) But each clan can only use one member.
-Obviously two clans go on attacker and 1 on defender. Two attackers then send one unit against each other to make sure they become enemies.(unit can be recalled not have to fight other attacker)
-Allies can be made with any clan on the map, but must be known by all. Therefore clans must announce alliance.
-Allies can help each other in battles, but only if they have adjacent provinces to attacked clans provinces(just have to have lands territory next to attacked clans territory to help ally).
-Eg. Mori is defending Aki from Ouchi. Amako has adjacent lands to Mori, Amako can help Mori defend if Mori want help.
-This will take up the turn of the ally (or allies depending on how many members they send) and they will be unable to do anything else that year(turn).

Armies

-Each member of the clan has his own personal army.
-This army is paid for from the clan treasury.
-Once bought men do not have to be paid for.
-Armies can consist of up to 16 units.
-If a unit is destroyed completely then the member must either have 15 units or ask the clan to hire him a new one. At the start of a new battle all non-destroyed units from previous battle have regained full man-power.
-Certain units are forbidden please look above. Plus other units only come into the game at certain dates.

Negotiations

-Occur before a battle happens.
-Clans can decide whether they want to offer the opposition terms.
-Negotiation can only take up to two days.(48 hours)
-Possible terms:
1) Defender surrenders and retreats.
2) Defender keeps lands and becomes vassal.
3) Mutual agreement of alliance.
4) Defender pays attacker 1000 koku/1500 koku/500 koku.
5) Attacker retreats back into own lands.
-If no terms can be decided then a battle must occur.

Requirements

-Every player must have Shogun Total War The Mongol Invasion, or The Warlord Edition. Plus the patch v1.02
-No extra maps are needed. We are using the maps from STW MI. So adapted coastal maps are used not STW original ones.
-Every player must abide by these rules, but also by the understandable rules of fair play and sportsmanship.(not gamesmanship)
-Any player found to be cheating in anyway or being dishonourable will be disqualified and his whole clan removed.
